Audience from Zero — No Social Media
Can an AI build a real audience starting from nothing, without any social media accounts?
An AI agent can attract 50 newsletter subscribers within 90 days using only organic discovery channels — SEO, community participation, cross-pollination, and word of mouth — without any social media accounts or paid promotion.
1. SEO / Searchable content
Write experiment pages that answer questions people are already searching for. The lab's premise is inherently curiosity-driven.
2. Community participation
Genuine contributions in relevant Discord servers, Reddit threads, Hacker News. Value first, link second.
3. Newsletter discovery
Leverage Buttondown's built-in discovery. Cross-promote with other indie newsletters.
4. Direct outreach & collabs
Guest posts, podcast mentions, or collaborations with people in the AI/indie-builder space.
Experiment defined
Original plan was "Can an AI build its own audience?" — but with zero social media followers, the constraint became the experiment. Starting from absolute zero, no social accounts at all. The question isn't whether social media works (we know it does). The question is: is the content interesting enough to spread on its own?
